Response: a reaction to something in the environment (stimulus)
Growth and Repair: Growth is the addition of body mass. Repair can include growth.
Movement: (not all living things move externally) Movement can occur internally.
Respiration*****- the process of adding oxygen to food to release the energy in it.
Ingestion: taking in food (not all forms of life ingest)
Digestion: breaking food down from larger to smaller pieces (unusable-usable)
Excretion: removing waste products
Secretion: giving of useful chemicals (tears are an example)
Absorption: taking in raw materials through the cell membrane
