EARTH SCIENCE
Chapter 1
The Earth is divided into 3 general areas:
1. Geosphere: Solid part of the earth
2. Hydrosphere: Liquid part of the earth
3. Atmosphere: Gaseous part of the earth
4. Biosphere: Living part of the earth
A HEALTHY ECOSYSTEM: has the following characteristic:
POLLLUTION: Is a general term for something that threatens the relationship between the components of an ecosystem.
Chapter 1-2
Theory: A theory is developed from a set hypotheses that have
been supported by the results of experimentation and observation.
Scientific Law: A law is developed from a theory that has been proven correct every time it has been tested.
ACTIVITY:
1. Identify as many types of pollution as you can. Include when,
where, and how it is produced.
2. Take each type of pollution you have identified and describe how it might affect living things (in general).
3. Then take an ecosystem of your choice and identify specifically how certain (minimum of 3) pollutants affect the relationships in that ecosystem.
