Enchantments 06

Here is photo summary of my trip to the Enchanments in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness the first week of August. This trip required a permit that I was able to obtain through a lottery held by the USFS. We entered the area via Snow Lakes. This made the first day 10+ miles and 6000 feet elevation gain. I was whipped when we arrived at our camp on Leprachaun Lake.

Below is a topo map. You must scroll to the right and follow the red line from the point marked Finish (our start and end spot). Ignore the mark labeled Start.

Temple Ridge from Nada Lake.

Several photos of Snow Lakes.

(You have to climb over the ridge in the background to get to Enchantment Basin)

Little Annapurna on the far left and Dragontail Peak on the right. Both over 8000 feet. The saddle to the right of Dragontail is Asgard Pass. It leads down (2000 feet) to Colchuck Lake (Bob and I were there earlier in the summer)
